Frank "Skinner" P. Back Sr.

Frank “Skinner” Preston Back, Sr., 93, husband of Dorothy Alliene (Argenbright) Back, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at his home in Arbor Hill.

Skinner was born on September 1, 1929 in Arbor Hill to the late Robert Lloyd and Emma King (Cason) Back.

He was a member of Arbor Hill Church of the Brethren. He retired from Stanley Furniture after 45 years of service. Skinner loved deer and turkey hunting. He gardened all his life and freely shared it with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 70 years, he is survived by his children, Doris Jean Back Leach and husband Don, Frank Preston Back, Jr. and wife Johannah, Kimberly Back Campbell, and Robert Lewis Back; a brother, Marvin Elwood Back; a sister, Bonnie Jean McGuffin and husband John Hanger; a sister-in-law, Ora James Back; his grandchildren, Jeremy Leach, Jennifer Kane, Jeffrey Back, Chloe Back, Angela Robinson, Amber Thorne, Ashleigh Campbell and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Lloyd Back, Sr, George Rudolph Back, Wilber Kinney Back and Merlin Back; two sisters, Margie Lee Gulley and Nancy Louise Gayhart; and a granddaughter, Allison “Nikki” Back.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Jack Glover.

There will be no viewing or visitation at the funeral home.
