Franklin A. Hodge

Franklin Alexander Hodge, passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

Frank was born on November 8, 1946 in Jennings Gap to the late Lewis Hunter and Mary McCray Hodge.

Frank had been employed by Ervin Motors and Ozzie Porter as a mechanic until his health began to fail.

Frank loved dirt car racing. Every Saturday night and Sunday afternoon, you would find Frank at Eastside Speedway and Natural Bridge Speedway with Ted Kehrer racing and being a crew member. He also enjoyed hanging out at Cason Shell with Tim Cason and his friends.

He is survived by his nephew, Jonathan Bayne; his niece, Rosemary Bayne Martin and her husband, John; two great-nephews; four great-nieces; and his special friends, Ted Kehrer, Tim Cason and Diane McKenzie.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Dale Lewis Hodge and his sisters, Joan Marie Hodge and Connie Hodge Bayne.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro with the Reverend John Martin officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
