Freddie R. Lawhorne
Freddie Reid Lawhorne, 69, passed away on September 28, 2021 at Augusta Health.
He was born on September 22, 1952 in Waynesboro to the late William Angus Lawhorne, Sr. and Sophia Winifred (Pleasants) Lawhorne.
Freddie worked as a roofer for Frank Kirby & Sons. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved spending time building and racing cars.
He is survived by his fiancée, Kimberley Diane Shepard of Staunton; his son, Stanley Allen Via & wife Emily of Swoope; his adopted daughter, Jill Surratt; his sister Barbara Gilmer and husband Warren of Waynesboro; and his grandchildren, Ashlyn Nicole Via of Staunton and Madeline Grace Via of Swoope.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William A. Lawhorne, Jr.
A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. by Chaplain Jim McManus at the Swoope Volunteer Fire Company.
