Gaynelle Faith Ralston Null, 97, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, in Staunton.

She was born on January 12, 1928, in Augusta County to the late Guy Anderson Ralston, Sr. and Dorothy Hazel Lightner Ralston.

Gaynelle was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton.

She was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. Her faith was very important to her as was her belief in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

She worked as a telephone operator for C&P Telephone Company in Staunton. She was a devoted wife and mother always helping and advising her daughter in countless ways throughout her life.

Those who knew Gaynelle often described her as a dear, sweet lady, with a beautiful smile. She was told many times she had a million-dollar smile.

She is survived by her daughter Christie Lynn Null.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Francis “Frank” Maurice Null; her infant son, Claude Thomas Null; and her brothers, Guy Anderson Ralston, Jr. and William Smith Ralston.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton with Pastor Ryan Oswald officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church (2000 Shutterlee Mill Road, Staunton, VA 24401).
