Gertrude P. Gower
Gertrude Mae Phaneuf Gower, 74, wife of Lawrence Gower, passed away on January 29, 2023 at her residence in Staunton.
Gertrude was born on October 13, 1948 in Springfield, Massachusetts to the late Leo J. and Eleanor Hazel Millett Phaneuf.
She worked with Varco in the coil lab for thirty years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons, Robert Dame and his wife, Laura Dame, and Robert Gower; her daughters, Sherrie Contreras and her husband, Elias, and Jennifer Gower; her grandchildren, Ariena Dame, Jesse Dame, Elias Contreras, Jr., and Heather Dame; and a great-grandson, Rico.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Edward Dame; her brother, William Isadore Phaneuf; her half-brothers, Richard Raymond Godet, Colin C. Godet, and Joseph L. Godet; her half-sister, Lottie May Chase; her sister, Lucille “Lucy” Albina Phaneuf Norris; and her stepfather, Clarence Freeman Godet.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 3, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home.
