Harvey M. Barlow

Harvey Minton Barlow, 85, husband of Dolly Mae Barlow, of Stuarts Draft, died Sunday, May 23, 2021, at his residence.

He was born August 25, 1935 in Chilhowie, a son of the late Harvey Franklin and Anna Mae (Troxell) Barlow.

Mr. Barlow was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

He worked at Fishburne Military School, Penney Plate, Mastic, and helped with trail construction for Staunton Parks and Recreation.

He loved to collect old electronic equipment and cameras. Harvey had a love for all animals, but especially cats.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, family members include two sons, Randolph A. Barlow of Fredericksburg and Jeffrey L. Barlow of Stuarts Draft; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra M. and James Powell of Staunton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Leon and Betty Barlow, Tom and Rita Barlow, and Ted and Joyce Barlow; a sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Ike Collins; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Barlow; a granddaughter, Destiny; and five brothers, Marvin, Freddie, David, Frank, and Carlton.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2021 in the funeral home.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, May 28, 2021, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Ronnie Harris and Kevin Harris. Burial will follow in Thornrose Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be David, Matthew, and Dameion Powell and Adam Barlow.
