Helen Virginia Cason Ramsey, 99, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at her residence in Staunton.
She was born on April 24, 1926, in Middlebrook to the late Robert William and Angeline Virginia Clemmer Cason.
For nearly thirty years, Helen served as a bookkeeper at DeJarnette’s in Staunton.
Outside of work, Helen found her greatest happiness in her garden. She spent countless hours tending to her flowers, with a fondness for roses, perennials, day lilies, and daffodils.
Helen was a proud and devoted member of the Waynesboro Chapter #105 Order of the Eastern Star, where she cherished the friendships and fellowship she found there.
She also had a gift for cooking and loved sharing it with others. Helen found joy in preparing goodies for her friends, neighbors, and family. Her generosity and thoughtfulness were felt by all who knew her.
Helen is survived by her sons, Ronald Wayne Ramsey and Gary Alan Ramsey; her brothers, Harry “Tim” Clemmer Cason and Roy “Woodie” Lynwood Cason and his wife, Betty; her sister, Ruby Lee Cason Bratton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Granville Bell Ramsey; and her brothers, Fred Watson and Billy Glenn Cason.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 PM on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Covenant Presbyterian in Staunton with Associate Pastor Rae Watson officiating. A reception will immediately follow.
Interment will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 27, 2026, at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
