Ina Mae (Rohr) “Tootie” Powell, 87, widow of Harry Cecil Powell, Jr., passed away on Saturday July 2, 2022 in Fishersville, Va.
She was born on September 13, 1934 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Wallace Rohr and Annie (Rexrode) Rohr.
Tootie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and retired after many years as a Nurses Aide at Western State Hospital.
She enjoyed puzzles, embroidering, gardening and canning.
For the past nine years she resided in Staunton with her daughter, Martha Campbell.
She is survived by her son, Danny Powell, and daughters, Sheila Wise, and Martha Campbell; grandchildren, Daisy Powell, April Martin, David Campbell, Jr., Christy Botkin, Spurgy Hudgins, Matt Hudgins, and D.W. Powell; great-grandchildren Jordan Hearl, Dale Leslie, Noah Campbell, Ashley Botkin, Sierra Hudgins, Bailey Powell, Wyatt Hudgins, Brooklyn Hudgins, Lincoln Hudgins, Ryker Martin, Silas Campbell, Noelle Powell, and Luke Patteson; a great-great grandson, Sylas Kiracofe; her loving cat of 16 years, Lilly, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Preston, Fred, and Leo Rohr; and sisters, Mildred Smith, Geneva Wagner, and Thelma Parrott,; and a great- granddaughter, Sydney Nuckols.
A graveside service will be held on Friday July 8, 2022 at 11 a.m. at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by Pastor Bobby Campbell.
Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
