Irene Phyllis Bonner Lambert, 236 Taylor St. Staunton, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021.She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She was born January 1, 1921 to Zelna and Herbert Bonner of Clarksburg, WV. She was educated at Washington Irving High School, Potomac State College and WV Wesleyan, where she met her husband, Lorren. She was employed by the Tucker Co. Board of Education in WV for 20 years as a Remedial Reading Instructor.

She lived in Parsons, WV for over 50 years and was a member of the Parsons Presbyterian Church and many civic organizations. She enjoyed playing golf and spending time with her friends at the Holly Meadows Country Club. Her interests included reading, gardening, and photography. She was an accomplished artist. She and her husband traveled extensively and enjoyed antiquing together.

In Staunton, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Presbyterian Women, and Adult Sunday School. At the age of 83, after the death of her husband, Irene joined the Staunton YMCA where she loved attending the PACE class and exercising with her friends and caring instructors.

In addition to her husband of 63 years, Irene was predeceased by an infant daughter, Emily. Survivors include two sons, Loren Lambert (and Elaine Cooperman) Silver Spring, and James (and DeDe) Lambert of Elkins and her daughter Susan (and John) Manos of Staunton. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Josh Lambert of Raleigh and Lindsay (and Nick) Day of Boston, Michael (and Summer) Manos of Fairfax, Chris (and Rita) Manos of New York City and Andy Manos and Jenn Bender of Jersey City. She is survived by two great grandchildren, Amelia (Millie) and Eleanor Manos, two nephews, a niece and cousins.

Irene’s good cheer and generosity of spirit blessed her family and those who knew her. She loved her church community, friends, and neighbors. She lived a blessed life and was a good and faithful servant. Her Faith was her comfort and her family her greatest joy.
Memorials may be made to the Parsons Presbyterian Church, Parsons, WV, First Presbyterian Church, Staunton, or the Staunton YMCA.
