James William Davis, 82, widower of Norma Davis of Greenville died Wednesday, June 9, 2021, in Greenville.
He was born April 20, 1939, in Staunton, a son of the late James William, Sr., and Verna (Rowe) Davis.
He was a life-long farmer, cattleman, hunter, fisherman, and a real cowboy. He was a world championship registered Quarterhorse breeder.
He was a member of Middlebrook Church of God.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Davis, and step-father, Kenneth Doyle.
Family members include his life partner, Pam Benton and her children, Charles Teasley and granddaughter, Marley Teasley; grandchildren, Carsha (Matt) Eavers and Tess (Ben) Williams; seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Bella, Carrter, Mattie, Bowen, John, and Davis; and special people in his life, Danny Serrett, Gordon Hendrich, Dustin and Jesse Lunsford, and numerous friends.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in the Middlebrook Church of God by the Rev. Larry Strickler.
