He was born on January 27, 1950, in Augusta County, to the late Carl Edward and Nancy Odessa Earhart.
Jim was a faithful and devoted member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church, where he proudly maintained 32 years of perfect Sunday School attendance. He had a kind and gentle soul and found great joy in worship, fellowship, and being surrounded by people he loved.

He is survived by his niece Beth Gibson, and her husband, Tom; his great-nephew, Kemper Gibson (Mandy) and their children, Lila and Liam Gibson; and his great niece, Kayla Hostetter (Sonny) and their son, Rowen Hostetter.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Paul Hamilton Earhart, and his sisters, Barbara “Bobbie” Alice Earhart, and Shelby Jean Earhart Burton.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
