James Glenn Peacock, 70, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at his residence in Staunton.
He was born on January 22, 1955, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington D.C. to the late James Roscoe and Jean Houston Peacock.
After graduating from Blair High School in Silver Spring, Maryland, he attended the Rockville Campus of Montgomery College - Maryland and graduated from George Mason University in Fairfax with his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
Directly out of college, Glenn worked with his father for many years in the arts and graphics field. In the early 1980s, he met and married his wife, Nancy Merrill. They moved to Front Royal and eventually made their current residence in Staunton.
Most recently, Glenn had been employed with Hall Community Services Inc. in Staunton. He loved his job and his employees.
Outside of his professional career, he was an avid fisherman and fishing guide. He found his passion for fishing early in life and his mom, Jean, would drive Glenn and his brother, Neal, to fishing spots as early as eight years old. As the brothers got older, they would eventually find themselves drawn to more competitive-driven fishing tournaments, as well as serving as professional fishing guides. So much so, that he and his brother had the honor of being selected as private guides for the late President George H. W. Bush and the late television anchor and news reporter, Jim Vance.
He truly loved fishing. During nearly every conversation with his Ohio brother, Neal, that passion always found itself as one of the main topics.
Glenn leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Nancy Merrill Peacock; his brother, Neal Lee Peacock and his wife, Barbara; and a host of dear friends.
Future services will be announced at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to the Augusta Regional SPCA (P.O. Box 2014, Staunton, VA 24402) or to Hall Community Services, Inc. (110 West Johnson Street, Suite 227, Staunton, VA 24401).
