Jane D. Cangalosi

Jane Harriette Dickinson Cangalosi, 85, passed away on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Brookdale in Staunton.

She was born on July 10, 1938, in Providence, RI to the late William and Ruby A. Garner Dickinson.

Jane was a member of the YMCA for 30 years. She enjoyed playing bridge with her friends. Jane's enthusiasm for bridge created lasting bonds with those who shared her passion for the game.

Travel was another interest that brought immense joy to Jane's life. She had a thirst for exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. She eagerly embraced every adventure with an open mind and a contagious spirit of curiosity. When she was younger, she enjoyed guided horseback trips into the Canadian wilderness. As she grew older, she liked traveling by train to locations in Africa and Europe, as well as playing bridge on cruise ships.

Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband Davis Stewart Cangalosi. Their union was one built on love, support, and unwavering companionship throughout their long and fulfilling marriage. They both attended the University of Pennsylvania and met on a blind date. The rest is history!

She is also survived by her son, Jonathan William Cangalosi and his wife, Aimee; her daughter, Caroline Anne Cangalosi George; her granddaughters, Emma Babin, Ellinor Cangalosi, and Lily Grace Cangalosi; her grandson, Alex George; her cousin, Richard Smith; and her sister-in-law, Linda Fleet.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton with the Reverend William "A.J." Heine officiating.

Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
