Jennifer Goff

JENNIFER L. GOFF STAUNTON, VA Jennifer Lynn Goff passed away Friday in her home in Staunton. She was 51 years old. Jennifer is survived by her husband, Michael Goff, her children, Cody McEniry and Chris and Jacqui Goff, two sisters, Jill Jaroff and Susan Malfa, two brothers, Peter Jaroff and Nicholas Jaroff, three nieces and four nephews. Jennifer Lynn Jaroff was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 19, 1963, the daughter of the late Leon and Claire Jaroff. Jennifer attended public schools in Ossining, New York, and graduated from New York Institute of Technology in 1985. Jen, as she was known to her friends, held a number of jobs in Staunton, including writing for the Staunton News Leader and working at The Depot and the Mill Street Tavern. With her husband Mike, she opened The Dining Room restaurant in 2003. The Goffs sold the restaurant in 2007. Jennifer continued to work as a marketing associate at Sysco, where she had worked since 1997. Jennifer had a keen wit, a razor-sharp intelligence and the kindest of hearts. Her ability to make an instant connection with people from all walks of life explains not only her great success in sales and the popularity of any bar she tended or restaurant she helped manage, but also the loyalty and love of her family and her many friends. She loved life, her family and friends, her dog and the beach. She loved parties and politics and music and movies and a tall glass of wine. She will be sorely missed by all. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Friday, January 16, at the Henry Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Southern Poverty Law Center or the American Cancer Society.
