Jerry L. Cupp

Jerry Lane Cupp, 68, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at his residence in Verona.

He was born on November 5, 1957, in Staunton, to the late Oscar Fred and Ruth Thanet Hinton Cupp.

Jerry loved the Miami Dolphins and was a loyal fan through the years. He also enjoyed NASCAR and was a collector of many things. He was a member of Hermitage Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro. Above all, Jerry was a tender-hearted man with a kind and gentle nature.

He is survived by his significant other, Nita Dagenhart; his sister-in-law, Betty Cupp; her daughter, Sarah Bistel, her partner, Ellis Fravel, and Sarah’s children, Summer and Hunter Bistel; his nephew, Matthew Cupp; and his niece, Evelyn Cupp, and her children, Hailee and Andrew.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Wilson Lee Cupp; his sister, Dale Lynn Cupp; and his nephew, Jeremy Cupp.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2025, at Hermitage Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro with Pastor Larry Roberts officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Pleasantview Lutheran Church Cemetery in Staunton.

Following the burial, the family invites all who wish to join them for a meal at Hermitage Presbyterian Church in Waynesboro.
