Jimie R. Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jimie Rebecca Taylor who passed away at the age of 44 on Friday, May 29, 2026, at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

A lifelong Staunton native, she was born on February 6, 1982, to Marion Estelle McKenney Taylor and the late English Brent Taylor.

Jimie brought light, wisdom, and humor to everyone she met. She persevered through life’s challenges with remarkable bravery and strength.

For many years, Jimie was a staple of the Staunton restaurant community, where she built lasting friendships. She was known as a magnificent friend who could always be counted on for a great joke, a home-cooked meal, or a mean game of pool. More than anything, Jimie cherished a good book and the time she spent surrounded by her family.

Reunited in peace with her father, Jimie leaves behind a loving family who will miss her immensely. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, Huxleigh and Alexander; her sister and brother-in-law, Erin Leigh Taylor Wright and her husband, Christopher; and her nephews, Xavier and Oliver.

A memorial gathering of family and friends will take place from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
