Jimmy Horace Slough, 92, called home to be with his Savior on Friday, January 23, 2026, at his residence in Mount Solon.

He was born on January 19, 1934, in Rockbridge County to the late Elmer Emory and Clare Edith Snyder Slough.

Jimmy was the last surviving member of his immediate family and served as a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church in Harrisonburg.

He is survived by his son, Dwight Horace Slough; his daughter, Linda Darlene Slough.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Rheta Virginia Hostetter Slough; and his son, Larry Dean Slough.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens in Staunton with Pastor Mark Mays officiating.

The family takes comfort in the words of Scripture:

Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures. - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

The arrangements have been entrusted to Henry Funeral Home.
