Jo Sanger Humphreys Burnett
Jo Sanger Humphreys Burnett, 88, of Staunton, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2022. She was born September 20, 1934 in Augusta County, a daughter of William Jay Humphreys, Jr. and Catherine Druen Sanger Humphreys.
She was a bank secretary and also worked in property management. Later in life, Jo became a CNA. She provided exceptional care for her elderly clients.
In addition to her parents, Jo is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth “Libby” Burnett Hayman, her son-in-law, Michael Dewey Hayman; sisters and brothers-in-law Nancy Downey and Joe; Catherine “Kitty” Lockridge and Max; a brother, William “Billy” Jay Humphreys, III.
Surviving are her grandson, John Michael Hayman; a brother and sister-in-law Kenneth Martin Humphreys and Nancy Burkholder Humphreys; sister-in-law Kathryn Harper Humphreys; special niece Sara Humphreys Alexander; special nephew Scott Yeago; and many other nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2023, at Henry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Shawna Hiner officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Valley Mission, Inc. 1513 W Beverley St., Staunton, VA 24401.
