Jon Glenn Newman, 65, passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at his residence in Stuarts Draft.
He was born on May 3, 1960, in Charleston, West Virginia to the late Henry Glenn and Betty Ann Hill Newman.
A proud West Virginian through and through, Jon lived a simple, honest life filled with all the things he loved, especially his family.
He loved fishing, on the water was where he found peace. A devoted sports fan, he never missed a West Virginia Mountaineers game and wore gold and blue with pride.
Nothing brought him more joy than cheering on his granddaughter at high school softball games and watching his grandson leave it all on the soccer field. He showed up and made sure they knew he was proud.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Diane Coffey Newman; his daughter, Renee Diane Newman Krieg and her husband, Aaron Joseph Krieg; his sister, Jane Ellen Newman Fisher and her husband, Lex; his grandchildren, Lillian Kay and Cody Kreig; his brother-in-law, Roy Dale Coffey and his wife, Janice; his nieces, Sarah Coffey Pruett, Katie Fisher Bridgen and Rebecca Fisher, and his special friends, Chris Marks, and Bobby and Sherrey McCauley.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Linda Kay Newman; his father-in-law, Kelly Elwood Coffey, Jr.; his mother-in-law, Glenna Coffey; as well as two special friends, John Harvey Loan and Dave Anderson.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
Inurnment will immediately follow at 11:00 AM at Augusta Memorial Park in Waynesboro.
