Joyce B. Hanger

Joyce Ann Baylor Hanger, 84, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Blue Ridge Christian Home in Raphine.

She was born on June 29, 1941, in Middlebrook to the late Willis Newton, Jr. and Louise Gertrude Clemmer Baylor.

Joyce attended Dunsmore Business College. She was a lifelong member of Mount Tabor Lutheran Church where she was the organist for many years.

On June 16, 1962, she married the love her life, Thomas Leland Hanger. Together they navigated life on the dairy farm and raised two children, Mark Baylor and Kelly Clemmer Hanger. Joyce was well known for the delicious lunches she prepared each day while the guys were milking cows.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by; her son, Mark Baylor Hanger (Ashley); her daughter, Kelly Clemmer Hanger; her grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan (Emily), Luke Russell, Ashley Hanger and Danielle McCray (Matthew); her great-granddaughter, Rylee Ann Buchanan; her sister-in-law, Sue Hanger; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Baylor Cline and her husband, Bobby; and her brother-in-law, Donald Hanger.

In accordance with her wishes a private graveside will be held.
