Kenneth M. Campbell

Kenneth Milton Campbell, 87, of Raphine, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, TN.

He was born on September 25, 1938, in Rockbridge County, a son of the late Milton Leonard and Leona Catherine Mynes Campbell.

Kenneth was a graduate of Brownsburg High School and dedicated more than forty years of his career as a mechanic at DuPont in Waynesboro. He found great enjoyment in gardening and bicycling but was best known for his caring heart and generosity toward others. A faithful "visitor," Kenneth made it a priority to check in on friends, family, those who were sick or homebound, and members of his church congregation, always offering encouragement and companionship.

Kenneth was a devoted member of Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern and faithfully served on the church Session for many years. He was also a member of the Spottswood-Raphine Ruritan Club, where he enjoyed serving his community alongside fellow members.

He is survived by his daughter, Amy Grace Campbell Crews and her husband, Micah; his grandchildren, Grace Anne and Ian James Crews; his brother, Burness “Snap” William Campbell and his wife, Margaret; his nieces and nephews, Gina Yoder and her husband, Greg, Terri Vailes and her husband, Robert; David Campbell and his wife, Emily, and Chad Campbell and his wife, Ashley; and a sister-in-law, Mary Campbell.

In addition to his parents and his beloved wife, Marjorie Esther Wohlgemuth Campbell, he is preceded in death by a brother, David Wayne Campbell.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.

A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Mount Carmel Presbyterian Church in Steeles Tavern. A memorial service will follow in the church sanctuary beginning at 12:00 PM.
