KENNETH F. CONNER GREENVILLE, VA Kenneth Fay Conner, 84, husband of Margaret Harris Conner of 2870 Cold Springs Road, died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at Beulah Land Campus, Raphine. He was born February 24, 1930, in Ellard-Cold Springs, a son of the late A. Ray and Louise (Cullen) Conner. Mr. Conner was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. While in the service, he served with the 523 Military Police at Aberdeen, Maryland. Prior to retirement, Kenneth was employed by Dupont with 40 years of service. He was a life-long member of Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty C. Oliver and Patricia Wray Conner. In addition to his wife of 61 years, family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen C. and Michael A. McWhorter of Roanoke; a grandson, Ryan A. McWhorter; a sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie C. and James W. Dewhurst; and two brothers-in-law, Daniel F. Harris and Earl E. Harris. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2014, in Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church by the Pastor Isca Mitchell and Rev. Judson Baldwin. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Frankie Tanksley, Danny Myrtle, Danny Fitzgerald, Tony Fitzgerald, Junior Brown, and Larry Harris. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, in Pines Chapel Presbyterian Church.
