LARUE E. MARSTELLER STAUNTON, VA Mrs. LaRue E. Marsteller passed away on the afternoon of May 19, 2015. She was 99 and a resident of Shenandoah Nursing Home in Fishersville VA. Mrs. Marsteller was born in Emmaus, Pennsylvania, on August 28, 1915 and was the daughter of Warren and Emma Giering. She was also the granddaughter of Wilson and Katie Bickel, who raised her after the deaths of her parents. Mrs. Marsteller graduated from Emmaus High School in 1932 and from Moravian College for Women in 1936. The following year she married Frank D. Marsteller, and they were married for 65 years until his death in 2002. During her working career, Mrs. Marsteller was employed principally by Rodale Press of Emmaus, where she was Reader's Service Editor for Prevention magazine. Survivors include her daughter, Jane Lobb and her husband William L. Lobb of Staunton VA, and her son, Daniel Marsteller and his wife Jean of Cordova TN. Mrs. Marsteller was also the grandmother of 5 and great-grandmother of 10. Known for her kindness and patience, Mrs. Marsteller maintained her unfailing good humor throughout her life. Her positive attitude and her sense of humor were lifetime possessions. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church and at other times at her daughter's residence. Arrangements have been entrusted to Henry Funeral Home.
