Linda Lou VanFossen Strickler, 80, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at Augusta Health Hospice of the Shenandoah in Fishersville.

She was born on August 2, 1946, in Staunton to the late John Peyton and Violet Myrtle Ramsey VanFossen.

Linda retired after many years of service as a manager with Wilco Convenience Store. She was also a member of the Staunton and Verona Moose, where she enjoyed the friendships she made over the years.

In her free time, Linda was an avid BINGO player and rarely passed up an opportunity to play. She enjoyed fishing, watching the squirrels outside, and spending time enjoying nature. She also loved baking cakes; a talent she was happy to share with those around her.

She is survived by her husband, Henry Strickler; her daughters, Debra Jean Strickler Blackwell and Angela Renee Strickler Taylor and her husband, Joel; her grandchildren, Conchetta Castillo and her husband, Jonah, Kristina Callison and her husband, Clint, and Nikolas Blackwell and his wife, Georgia; her great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Mariya Woolridge, Khloe Castillo, and Dominick Callison; and her sisters, Vera Susan VanFossen Baker, Rebecca Jean VanFossen Toney, and Rose Marie VanFossen Sutton.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, John “J.W.” William Blackwell, Jr.; her granddaughter, Kassi Blackwell; her brothers, Charles Edward and Raymond Lee VanFossen; and her sister, Barbara Ann VanFossen Jones.

Services will be announced at a later date.
