Linwood Louis Adams, 94, passed away in Waynesboro, VA at Summit Square Retirement Community on Saturday, May 13, 2023.
Linwood was born May 25, 1928 in Kinston, NC. His family moved to Vanceboro, NC when he was 7 years old. He was a 1949 graduate of Brevard Jr. College and after serving two years in the US Army, attended and graduated from East Carolina College.
Linwood was employed by the Veterans Administration and worked in administration at hospitals in Richmond, VA; Dayton, Ohio; Cincinnati, Ohio, and retired from the Veterans Hospital in Hampton, VA after 27 years of service. He and his wife moved to Waynesboro in 1994 and enjoyed living in the valley.
Linwood enjoyed playing golf and tennis for many years. He also enjoyed computers and investing.
He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Linwood was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Mary Burnett Adams; his parents, Raymond Curtis Adams and Mary Viola Manning Adams; and a brother, Raymond Curtis Adams, Jr.
He is survived by a brother, David Earl Adams and his wife, Patricia of Edmond, OK; a sister-in-law, Margaret Holland Adams; and several nephews and nieces. He was also considered by his wife's relatives, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, as family.
At his request, he is to be cremated and his remains joined with his wife on family property in North Carolina.
