GREENVILLE, VA… Llewellyn Kemper Burton, Jr., 77, husband of Shelby Burton, of Spottswood Road, spent his first Christmas in Heaven upon his death on December 24, 2017 at his residence. He was born on May 8, 1940 in Richmond, the son of Llewellyn Kemper, Sr. and Elizabeth Virginia (Perkinson) Waid Burton. Mr. Burton retired as a corporal with the Augusta County Sherriff’s Office. He was a member of New Covenant Church. In addition to his wife of 52 years, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Tom Gibson of Stuarts Draft, and Suzanne and Warren Collier of Louisa; two grandchildren, Kemper Gibson and wife, Mandy, of Raleigh, NC, and Kayla Gibson and boyfriend, Sonny Hostetter, of Staunton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Art and Liz Bennet of Richmond. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Don Cash. Burial will follow in the Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Les Shaw, Tom Gibson, Larry Dull, Kemper Gibson, Warren Collier, and Sonny Hostetter. The family will receive friends for 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in the funeral home.
