Lois E. Ruch

Lois E. Ruch of Fishersville, passed away at the age of 90, on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at Augusta Health. 

Lois was the wife of the late William H. Ruch, to whom she had been married for 58 years.  Lois was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Jane G. Ruch, the wife of her son, Michael W. Ruch; her parents, Charles D. and Mabel M. Wildsmith; her brothers, Ira, Charles and Joseph Wildsmith; and her sisters, Helen Kane and Patricia Corrigan.

She leaves behind her sons, Dennis A. Ruch and his partner, Carol Merkle of Apache Junction, AZ and Michael W. Ruch of Fishersville. Lois also leaves behind two grandchildren, Carrie R. Holsinger and her husband, Travis and Joseph I. Ruch and his wife, Chrissy. In addition, Lois leaves behind nine great-grandchildren, Ethan Holsinger, Lucas Holsinger, Jack Holsinger and Jacob Holsinger, Noah Law, Talulah Ruch, Kellen Ruch, Charlie Ruch and Alex Ruch.  She also embraced six additional great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Thomas, Christopher, Michael, and Jacob.

Lois was an active member of the Women’s Auxiliary of the Clemmer-McGuffin American Legion Post 13 in Staunton.  Prior to retirement, she was primarily employed in retail sales.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Staunton.  The Reverend Dr. Steve Traylor will officiate. Visitation will follow the service.
