Lucille Mae “G. G.” (Varner) Biby, 87, widow of Ray Huffman, of Staunton, died on Monday, October 24, 2022 at her home.
She was born September 10, 1935 in Highland County, daughter of the late Raymond Clark and Reba Gertrude (Botkin) Varner.
She was a member of Jollivue United Methodist Church. Lucille was a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to travel, especially cruises. She enjoyed watching her great grandchildren play baseball, spending time outdoors in the sun, and watching her birds.
Lucille is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Berry and Terry and Mike Portch; a son, Scott A. Biby; and six grandchildren, Wayne Berry and husband Thomas Rigg, Brandy and Travis Burruss and their children, Hayden, Mason, and Mia, Kim and Matt Ladd and their children, Mackenzie and Jose, Minette “Mindy” and Daniel Claxton and their children, Noah and Avery, Michael Portch and Mandy Hawkins and their children, Aven and Kamden; four step uncles, Delmar, Delton, Gary, and A. J. Botkin; sister and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Ed Taylor, and Tommy Huffman; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her three sisters, Violet Jarvis, Pauline Crone, and Helen McLear; two brothers, Frank Varner and Robert Varner; son-in-law, Roy Berry; and special pet, Winddancer.
A memorial service will be conducted at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2022 in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Chuck Cole.
