Margaret "Peggy" A. Paxton

Margaret “Peggy” Ann Paxton, 77, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at River Edge Rehabilitation and Nursing in Waynesboro.

She was born on November 8, 1948, in Staunton to the late James Hall and Margaret Elizabeth Painter Hite.

She was a devoted member at Linden Heights Baptist Church in Staunton.

She is survived by her husband, Ronald Cameron Paxton; and her brother, Homer Lee Hite.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, James Hunter and John “Slim” Wayne Hite; and her sister, Mary Ellen Hite Earhart.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton with Pastor Luke Smith officiating.
