Margarette M. Parrish

Margarette Maddox Parrish, 81, of Sanford, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday May 21, 2025.

Margarette was born in Augusta County to the late Conley Ferdinand and Irene Fitzgerald Maddox.

She loved, baking and cooking, nature watching and cats but most of all, she loved her family.

She is survived by her sons, Robert Parrish (Charisse) and Anthony Parrish (Reggie Bowman); Catherine Gilmore (Roger); nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Lonnie Carson Maddox; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Hunter Parrish; her son Roger Maddox; her daughter, Teresa Ann Maddox; her grandson, Shannon Maddox; her brothers, Therman Cardwell, Carl Kenton, James Williams, Ernest Franklin, Homer Lee; and a son-in-law, Alan Spivey.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Rogers-Pickard Funeral Home in Sanford, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday May 31, 2025, at Barren Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery in Staunton.
