Mark E. Hoffman

Mark Edward Hoffman, 77, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at his residence in Staunton.

He was born on August 20, 1948, in San Diego, California, to the late Daniel John, Sr. and Florette Anne Mason Hoffman.

Mark attended Mission Bay High School in San Diego, California, and later earned his bachelor’s degree from San Diego Mesa College. He went on to build a successful career as a Systems Engineer with Science Applications International Corporation, Inc. In addition to his work at SAIC, he built radio stations from Alaska to Virginia. He was a renowned audio engineer and an expert in his field.

Outside of his professional life, Mark was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed learning about and sharing his knowledge of his hobby. He also had a deep affection for cats and took great comfort in their companionship.

He is survived by his sons, Neil Edward, David Robert and Alan Elliott Hoffman; and his brothers, Daniel, Jr. and Randy Hoffman.
