Mary Louise (Moats) Booth, 83, widow of Richard Booth passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2021 in Augusta Health.
She was born on May 26, 1937 in McDowell, a daughter of the late James Floyd and Mable (Varner) Moats.
Mary was employed at Unifi for many years. She was known as “The Hugging Lady”. Always showing affection to anyone she met. She was a member of the Churchville Lions Club.
She attended New Hope United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by her brothers, Charles, Allen, Dennis Ralston; Roger Moats; and sisters, Beulah Simmons, Daisy Hoover, and Bonnie Nuchols.
Surviving family members include daughters, Cindy Mayne (Bill), of Verona; and Corieta Smith of Verona; a son, Kevin Almarode (Gloria) of High View, WV; sisters, Wilma Harlow and (Larry Dean Simmons) of Churchville, Dorothy Moyers (Colin) of Staunton; grandchildren Becky Almarode (Eddie) of Weyers Cave, Joanna Newlen of Hot Springs, Lori Wagner (Kirk) of Bridgewater, Amy Crickenberger of Waynesboro, Stephanie Mayne of Fishersville, Crystal Serret of Verona, Katrina Floyd (Mike) of Weyers Cave; and a number of great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Oak Lawn and Memory Gardens by Rev. Mike Reaves.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Haley, Darren Haley, Travis, Jeff Moyers, John Robinson, John Moats.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 12 p.m. until 5 p.m.
