Maureen Cole White was born on March 8, 1947, in Johnson City, NY.

She passed away at Brightview Baldwin Park on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, in Staunton, VA.

She is survived by her husband of twenty-six years, Harrison E. White; her brothers, Brian D. Cole, of Orrtana, PA and Scott P. Cole (Marilyn) of Venore TN; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; a stepbrother, Thomas Mott (Molly); and a stepsister, Amanda Rogers (Joseph).

She was predeceased by her father, Douglas R. Cole; her mother, Mary Cole Mott; and her stepfather, William B. Mott.

She graduated from Binghamton (NY) Central High School, received an A.S. in Business from Broome Community College, and a B.A. and M.A. in Social Science from Binghamton University. She was on the staff of Binghamton University for forty-three years, with the last sixteen years as Executive Assistant to the President. She and her husband Harrison moved to the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia in 2010.

She greatly enjoyed traveling and visited most of the U.S. states. as well as the Caribbean, the UK, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Ukraine, and France.

In Staunton, she enjoyed reading, gardening, camping, Virginia day trips, occasional plays at the American Shakespeare Center, plus, some of Staunton's fine restaurants. Earlier in her life she enjoyed cross-country and downhill skiing, hiking in New York's Adirondack Mountains, rock climbing, whitewater rafting, and sky diving. She also rescued and cared for numerous cats.

Services will be private, and burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY.
