Meade Randolph (Jones) Loomis, 97, of Staunton died Friday, June 18, 2021, at her residence.
She was born December 4, 1923, in Augusta County, a daughter of the late Francis Fitzgerald and Ethel (McClure) Jones.
Prior to retirement, she was employed as a school teacher.
She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Perry and Sue Loomis of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Ellie Duke of Union, TN and John Perry Duke of CA; and nephews, Robert Bolling Christian and John Brownlee Christian IV (Kathy), all of Swoope.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law, Elysia McClure and David Pierce; three brothers, Dr. Frank Fitzgerald Jones, Jr., Rev. Dale McClure Jones, and James Alexander Jones; and two sisters, Mary Boyd Jones Christian and Ann Bolling Jones.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at Bethel Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Ryan Oswald. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Denise Bennett, Katie Christian, Jonathan Christian, J.B. Christian, Shawn Simmons, and Laura Simmons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Anna Bennett, Wayne Wagner, Milissa Kesterson, Naomi Carroll, Margaret Toye, Jeanie Harris, Tara Clopin, Emberly McFarren, Jackie Merritt, Katie Spears, Anne Ramsey, Drew Botkin, Martha and Phillip Sieck, and Jill Webb.
