STAUNTON, VA… Myrtle Louise (Lilley) Thompson, 76, widow of James William Thompson, of Staunton, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 in Envoy of Staunton. She was born October 2, 1939, in Goochland, a daughter of the late Kathleen H. West. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Genesco L. Grief with 30 years of service. She was a member of Mint Spring United Methodist Church. Family members include a son, Wendell Z. Thompson of Staunton; daughter, Kim Ervin of Stuarts Draft; grandchild, Kathleen Ervin of Stuarts Draft; two great grandchildren, Michael Johnson, Jr. and Patrick Johnson; brother-in-law, Wayne Hemp; sister-in-law, Faye Painter; in-laws, John and Bonnie Thompson, Anna Thompson, Martha Thompson, Frank Thompson, and Sandy Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Thompson; two brothers, Junior Lilley and James Painter; two sisters, Louise Hemp and Louise Coffey; and a brother-in-law, Tatum Coffey. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016 in Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens by the Rev. Terry Clark. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday afternoon in Henry Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Mint Spring United Methodist Women, P.O.
