FISHERSVILLE, VA. - Today a heart of gold stopped beating. July 10, 2021, Nancy Marie Bogan received her wings and flew into the arms of our sweet Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because Jesus has her mansion ready, according to John 14:1-4. She was born on March 29, 1945, a daughter of Emil and Hazel Gibbas in Baltimore, MD. Nancy owned and operated her beauty and barber shop for 53 years in both Maryland and Churchville.
Nancy is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Ronald F. Bogan of Churchville, VA; sister, Donna Gibbas of Atlanta, GA; stepson: Randy Horner and wife Cathy of Baltimore, MD; sister-in-law, Betty Sheffer of Baltimore, MD; and brother-in-law Bobby Bogan of Hot Springs, VA.
In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Horner.
Nancy dearly loved and was a proud member of Jerusalem Chapel United Brethren in Christ Church in Churchville, and the Arthur Pilgrim Sunday School Class there.
A very special thank you to all who have been praying for Nancy, to Augusta Health doctors, nurses and CNA’s for their help caring for Nancy, to her loving and wonderful neighbors Mike and Donna Calhoun and Leah, Richard and Elizabeth Fitt, and Buford and Linda Goins, and lastly to the nurses and staff at the Shenandoah Hospice House for the loving care of my sweet Nancy.
A memorial service for Nancy will be conducted at Jerusalem Chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2021, by Pastor Denny Sites, assisted by Pastor George Etling. Visitation will be one hour before and also following the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cancer Society, Alzheimer Research, or St. Jude’s Children’s Cancer Center.
Per Nancy’s request, her body will be cremated. Henry Funeral Home is serving the family.
Fly high my love, fly free, till we meet again – and we will!
