STAUNTON, VA Norman Edward Painter, 86, husband of Nannie M. Painter of Staunton, died Saturday, March 16, 2013, in Kings Daughter's Community Health and Rehab. Mr. Painter was born on March 26, 1926, in Vesuvius, a son of the late William Addison and Ruth (Drawbond) Painter. Prior to retirement, he was a supervisor at DuPont. He was also a member of Greenville Baptist Church. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he is survived by two sons, Marvin Painter and his wife, Debbie, of Waynesboro and Steven Painter of Australia; two daughters, Linda Fitzgerald of Fishersville and Patsy Perry of WI; five brothers, Earl, Frank, Garfield, Willie and Warren Painter; two sisters, Sylvia Dill and Carol Painter; three grandchildren, Amanda Dobson, Scott Fitzgerald and Jessica Caldwell; and three great-grandchildren, Blu Fitzgerald, Noah Wright and Alyssa Caldwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred McCormick and two brothers, Fred and Marvin Painter. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Henry Funeral Home, by Pastor Jamie McClanahan. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Active pallbearers will be his brothers and son. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
