Peggy Ann (McComb) Echols, 79, widow of Richard Franklin Echols Sr. passed away on December 29, 2021, at Shenandoah Nursing and Rehab.

Mrs. Echols was born on May 22, 1942, in Staunton, Virginia the only child of Hampton Hunter McComb and Clara Eveline (Runkle) McComb.

She graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville, Virginia in 1959. She then completed studies at The Staunton School of Cosmetology before owning and operating Comb and Brush Beauty Salon. After marriage, she focused on her family but maintained a beauty shop in her home.

In addition to the company of her family and friends, she enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening and playing cards.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law Richard Echols Jr. and his wife Maci-Shaw (Edwards) Echols of Bella Vista, AR and Jonathan Echols of Millboro, VA. Grandchildren include Alexandra Echols and her husband Hunter Ayers of Fayetteville, AR, Hannah Echols and Audrey Echols of League City, Texas, Clara-Ruth and Richard Echols III of Bella Vista, AR, Taylor (Campbell) Penrod and her husband Jadden of Bridgewater, and Jonathan Echols, Jr. and Isabella Echols of Churchville.

In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by an infant daughter, Harriet Eleanora Echols.

The Graveside Service has been RESCHEDULED for 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4th at Thornrose Cemetery due to inclement weather conditions.
