Ralph “R.D.” Dewitt Newlen, 82, widower of Catherine Joyce (Carter) Newlen, died Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his residence.
Mr. Newlen was born on September 13, 1938 in Highland County to the late John D. and Monna Belle (Hevener) Newlen.
He served in the U.S. Navy and retired as a motor route carrier with the Daily News Leader.
Mr. Newlen is survived by a daughter, Julie Martin.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a son, James Allen White.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, October 8, 2020 in Thornrose Cemetery.
