Ramona “Mona” Emily Deen White, widow of the late William Jay “W.J.” White, passed away on January 23, 2023, at Summit Square Retirement Community in Waynesboro.
Ramona was born on December 24, 1930, in Cebu City, Philippines to the late Dr. Najib and Maria Louisa Atega Deen.
Prior to her retirement, she served as a realtor at Remax. She was also involved in the Welcome Wagon, a bridge club, and the Realtor Association. Mona loved to read and travel to the Philippines and Europe. She enjoyed family barbecues and get-togethers with her grandchildren. She loved music and singing, and enjoyed attending plays at ShenanArts, the American Shakespeare Center’s Blackfriars Playhouse, as well as her granddaughter’s ballet recitals.
She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia White Little and her husband, David; three sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Rhonda White, Jay White, and “Mac” and Liz White; fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, Ava White.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Eddy Deen, Charlie Deen, and Andrew Deen; and her four sisters, Aida Gonzales, Helen McMahon, Adele Montgomery, and Arlene Carstens.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26 from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Henry Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Reverend Matthias Lusembo officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens.
