Ricky Lee Coon, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

He was born in Salem on June 22, 1961, to Barry Lee Coon and Brenda Gail Radford Stickley.

Ricky's life was marked by his unwavering dedication to the values of honor and service. He served in the United States Marine Corps with great pride, leaving a lasting impact on all those who had the privilege of serving alongside him. Ricky's military service exemplified his courage and commitment to protecting his country and his family.

Beyond his military accomplishments, Ricky lived a life filled with passion for various hobbies and interests. He truly embraced the great outdoors and found solace in hunting and fishing expeditions. His adventurous spirit also extended to adrenaline-fueled activities such as motocross and rock climbing. Ricky's love for exploration knew no bounds.

In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Ricky had a hidden talent in the kitchen. His culinary skills delighted family and friends and showcased his creativity and love for good food. The joy he experienced when sharing a meal with loved ones was unparalleled.

Ricky is survived by his children who brought immeasurable joy to his life; his daughter, Nicole Marie Coon; his son, Woody Lee Coon and his fiancée, Melissa Lewis; his sisters, Johneta Gail Coon Slusher and Dayna Melissa Coon Walker. Ricky's legacy extends through his grandchildren, Brenden Coon and Blakelee, Kolsyn, and Tate Moran. For the past seven years, Ricky found happiness in the companionship of his fiancée, Pamela Hirtriter Scheider.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Anita Marie Wilkinson Coon.
