Robert Holt Moyer, 85, passed away on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, at Staunton Post Acute and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born on October 11, 1939, in Staunton to the late Harry Holt and Nina Maude Painter Moyer.

Robert was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps, taking great pride in his time spent in military service.

He was known for his deep love of horses, particularly Arabian breeds, dedicating much of his life to raising and training them for show. Among his numerous achievements, he was especially proud to have his horses on the cover of a Statler Brothers album.

Robert had a profound appreciation for the great outdoors. He loved to travel, with a particular fondness for visiting national parks. Yellowstone, in particular, was his favorite.

Family was the most important part of Robert's life, and he looked forward to the Fourth of July family reunion every year. It became a cherished tradition for the entire family.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Lynn Moyer; his sons, Pete and Jeffrey Moyer, and his stepson, Frank Kozuch; his daughters, Mary Kay Mason; Tiffany Moyer, and Roshella Jackson; his grandchildren, Jared Mullenax, Meredith Bauer, and Dakota Moyer; and two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Andrew Moyer; and his sisters, Nancy Mitchell and Joan Key.

Services will be announced at a later date.

Arrangements are being handled by Henry Funeral Home.
