ROBERT L. POWERS VERONA, VA Robert "Bob" Lee Powers, 53, of 348 Maury Mill Road, died Saturday, April 27, 2013, at the Hospice House of the Piedmont, Charlottesville. He was born August 4, 1959, in Salem, New Jersey, a son of Tom Perry of Pennsville, New Jersey, and Lois Bell of Busy, Kentucky, step-father, Champ Powers of Thorfare, New Jersey. Mr. Powers was a chef. In addition to his parents, family members include two daughters, Nikki Powers of Smyrna, Delaware and Ashley Powers of Bear, Delaware; two brothers, Tommy Powers of Verona, VA, Ray Perry of Carneys Point, New Jersey; a sister, Angel Mount of Rochester, New York; a sister-in-law, Pamela Powers; five grandchildren, Sarrah, Alyssa, Elijah, Niasia, and Aubrey; a special friend, Esther Pangle; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Powers and Sonny Powers; and a sister, Shirley Powers. A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at the Staunton Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Memorials may be made to his daughters, Nikki and Ashley, 525 Lexington Ave., Smyrna, DE 19977. There will be no public viewing or visitation. Henry Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
