Rosa J. Little

Rosa Jaime Little, 64, departed this life on Saturday, August 2nd, 2025. Surrounded by her family, she passed peacefully at her home in Staunton, Virginia, following a lengthy illness.

Born August 11th, 1960 in Quezon City, Philippines, to Melquides Espino Jaime and Dionicia Tapnio Payumo, Rosa grew up in Mexico, Pampanga Province (Philippines). She worked overseas as a young adult, emigrating to the United States in 1999, and proudly became a US citizen in 2005.

Rosa had a deep love for her family, friends and pets. Compassionate by nature, she was driven by a strong desire to help others. She trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant, dedicating the rest of her working life to serving as a care provider within her local community.

Rosa is survived by her daughters: Renelyn Labrie (Kim Scott), Rachel Sudla (Romeo), and Rowena Jaime (Brian), as well as her husband William W. Little, and stepchildren William W. Little II and Kathleen Little.

Also surviving are beloved grandchildren Ricamae, Mikhaela, Marie Sheena, Jerick, Maria Sophia, Ahron John “AJ”, Maxene, Maria Angelica and Mabel Alexandra. She was preceded in death by her son, Rodrigo Sudla.

For Rosa, a game of cards, or sharing a meal with friends were treasured moments. Throughout her life, her greatest focus was creating better opportunities for her children. Her very real success in achieving this, under often difficult conditions, has left a lasting and positive legacy over two generations of her family. Rosa Little truly made a difference.

Rosa’s ashes will be taken to the Philippines in late 2025 to be buried alongside her son. A local visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday, August 11th at her home in Staunton (1283 Christians Creek Road 24401).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you consider honoring Rose’s memory by taking friends or family out for a meal, and reminiscing about times you shared with her.
