Roslyn Marie Southers, 84, of Staunton, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Augusta Health. She was born June 10, 1932, in Shenandoah, a daughter of the late Calvin Dillard and Susie Katherine (Clem) Southers. Roslyn was a member of Mt. Tabor Lutheran Church. She graduated from Covington High School and attended Dunsmore Business College. She worked as a business manager for the former Southers Wrecker Services and then as a private caregiver. She had a wonderful sense of humor, was fiercely independent, and the matriarch of the family. “Gangie”, “Nangy”, and “Grammy” will be missed greatly, and never forgotten. Family members include her daughter, Twilla Kent and husband, Terry; a son, Christopher Southers and wife, Kristi; five grandchildren, Randall Scott Rowe and wife, Crystal, Laura Beth Rowe, Sierra “Onnie” Southers, Drew McKenna Joy Southers, and Jessica Vernon Wagner and husband, Phillip; nine great grandchildren, Hudson, Rachel, Carly Lynn, Phillip, Jr., Haley, April, Madison, Wyatt, and Riley; a special friend, Mark Hite; and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Serena Joy Barcomb; three brothers, Dillard Eugene “Bob” Southers, Amos Benjamin Southers, and Joseph Calvin “Joe” Southers; and a sister, Susan Irene Callahan.
