Roy Lee Koiner, Sr., 87, widower of Lucy Mary (Smith) Koiner, passed away on October 12, 2021 at his home.
He was born on December 8, 1933 in Staunton to the late Charlene Koiner.
Roy was raised by his grandparents, Walter and Dora Koiner, who preceded him in death.
He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed taxidermy as well as his spins in the country. He loved to play stringed instruments.
In addition to his wife, mother, and grandparents, he is preceded in death by his son, Roy L. Koiner, Jr. and his son-in-law, Randy Arehart.
He is survived by his daughters, Thelma Mae Bright and Linda Koiner Arehart; his brother, William “Duke” Koiner; his grandchildren, Crystal Schwartz (Josh), Nicole Koiner, Dustin Arehart (Summer), Cheyenne Brown (Michael), Dakota Arehart (Whitney) and Chace Arehart; his great grandchildren, Conner Koiner, Owen and Lillian Schwartz, Leland Koiner, John and Estelle Sanders, Buck Jarvis, Marshall, Murphy, and Kenton Arehart; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a special cousin, James “Tinker” Ramsey.
A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. by Golden C. Clark, Jr. at Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Michael Brown, and James “Tinker” Ramsey.
