Shawn Sherrell Organ, affectionately known as “Paw-Paw,” “DJ Lickem,” and “DJ S.O.,” was born on October 25, 1968, in Staunton, Virginia, to Sherman N. “Boo Boo” Organ and Doris M. (Davis) Organ. On September 2, 2026, Shawn departed this life, leaving behind a legacy that extends far beyond his family and into the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

He was welcomed into eternal rest by his father, Sherman Organ, who preceded him in death.

Shawn leaves to cherish his memory his beloved children: Marlon Wright (Danielle), Vega Carter, Tiffany Williams (Donnell), Whitney Randolph, and David Randolph. He was a proud grandfather to Mekhi, Messiah, Theo, Aayden, Madisyn, Aariya, Jamil, Jermyiah, Jaycean, Jourmany, Jhreem, and Kennedy.

He is also survived by his sisters Tracy Yee, Arniece Stephens (Dointwan), Shaunté Organ, and Martina Crawford; and his brothers Dominique Brown, Kareem Crawford, Rhyheem Brown, Lee Walker (Patrice), and James Crawford.

Special cousins who held a dear place in his heart include Stacey Organ, Tonda Jordan (Rob), and Marlon Organ (Angie). He also leaves behind his last surviving aunt and uncle, Katie Mae Davis and Sammy Organ, who remain cherished pillars of the family.

Shawn is remembered with love by his stepmother, Neva Tyler Goodwin.

He shared a special bond with his nieces and nephews, many of whom looked up to him as more than just an uncle: Brittany and Devon Organ; Dre and Thamyus Claude; Chris, David, and Tarrad Davis; Sirelle Crawford; Octavia Ward; Champ and Love Grant; Javar, Ladaiya, Mahziyha, Kahville , Malia and Emory Crawford.

Shawn also leaves to cherish his memory his devoted life partner, Antoinette Scott, along with extended family, lifelong friends, and the many people throughout his community whose lives he touched.

His laughter, music, and love will forever echo in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Staunton, Virginia, with Associate Pastor Robert Jordan of North River Baptist Church officiating.

Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton on Friday, September 11, 2026, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, as well as one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM on Saturday.
