Steven M. Houff

Steven Michael Houff, 54, husband for 20 years of Sheila Brooks Houff, went to be with his Lord on Sunday April 23, 2023.

Steven was born on January 29, 1969 in Staunton to James Cyrus and the late Brenda Russell Houff.

He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman and was the best husband and father. He was known as a “jack of all trades” and was a member of the NRA. He was a very loyal officer with the Department of Corrections, serving as a Lieutenant for thirty-two years.

In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by his sons, Wyatt James and Steve Colton Houff; his daughters, Katelyn Fishel and Lily Grace Houff; his brother, Chris Sprouse; his uncle, Howard and wife, Karen Russell; and his father’s girlfriend, Karyn Doane.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandmother, Virginia Louise Subalasky.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday April 29, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Henry Funeral Home with Pastor Don McClure officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be James Cyrus Hoff, W.E. Curry, Wayne Painter, Vincent Cox, Chris Sprouse, Chris Harris, and James Moses.
