Timothy Collins Clemmer, 68, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at The Legacy at North Augusta in Staunton.
He was born on August 2, 1957, in Staunton to the late Burness Carlton and Loretta Nadine Thomas Clemmer.
For many years, he dedicated himself to the food service industry, working at McCormick’s Restaurant, the Buckhorn Inn, and the Stock Exchange Deli. His career also included positions at Vector Industries and Goodwill Industries, where he took great pride in serving others.
Tim was a faithful member of Second Presbyterian Church in Staunton. He enjoyed outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and horseback riding – he found joy in activities that brought him closer to nature. His passion for Native American culture and his love for wolves were well known among his friends and family.
He gave his time and heart to the Special Olympics, participating in bowling and bocce ball. He encouraged and cheered on fellow participants with genuine enthusiasm.
He is survived by his brother, Thomas Carlton Clemmer (Helen); his siter, Anita Kay Clemmer; his nephew, Joseph Thomas Clemmer (Jeremy Hinkle); his niece, Rachel Kathleen Clemmer (Dustin Skillman); his special cousin, Peggy Knowles; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Ann Marie Clemmer and his nephew, Matthew Daniel Clemmer.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at Henry Funeral Home in Staunton.
A graveside service will be held at 1:45 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at West Augusta Cemetery in West Augusta.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics (Attn: Web Gifts, 2600 Virginia Avenue NW, 11th Floor, Washington, DC 20037) or to the organization of your choice.
