Tyrone L. Stuart

Tyrone Lamont Stuart, 57, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at his residence in Staunton.

He was born on January 27, 1966 in Staunton to the late Theodore Junior and Charlene Rebecca Walker Stuart.

Tyrone had a successful career as a cook for many years at Mary Baldwin University, where he dedicated his time and culinary skills to the delight of students and staff. Tyrone was not only passionate about his work but also had a zest for life outside the kitchen. In his free time, he enjoyed playing cornhole and pitching horseshoes. These activities brought him joy and allowed him to connect with friends and loved ones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Crawford Stuart. Together, they built a beautiful family that includes their children, Derrick Stuart, Latara Stuart, Tyrone Stuart, Kendall Crawford, Tyrone Crawford, Shantia Pringle (Patrick), and Tyran Stuart. He is also survived by his brother, Kim T. Stuart (Gail); his sisters, Patricia G. Stuart (John), Linda D. Stuart Johnson (Michael), and Susan E. Stuart Brown, (Charles); numerous grandchildren; his special friends, Darren Bell and John Wooten; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Gary Eugene and Richard S. Stuart, as well as his sister, Judy Ann Stuart.

The family will receive friends on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Henry Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 1:00 PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Thornrose Cemetery in Staunton. 

The family will also receive friends at other times at the Brown Residence at 514 B Street, Staunton.
